Discover the artform of Chinese calligraphy. Dr. Jing Shui from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts presents a workshop that focuses on building a better understanding and appreciation of Chinese calligraphy. Attendees will create their own pieces of art to take home with them. Experience Bharatha Natyam, a classical dance style
of India, in
celebration of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Internationally known artist Padmarani Rasiah Cantu will
showcase her colorfully costumed student demonstration, followed by
a workshop. Participants will learn beautiful
movements, as well as special hand gestures and facial expressions, that are the
hallmark of Bharatha Natyam. The program concludes with a Q&A session. Registration begins April 13.
